Dès les années 40, Max était actif en SWL et réussi sa licence d'émission en 1955. En 1976, pendant qu'il occupait à New York un poste à responsabilité auprès de l'UNO, de Henseler réactiva la station radio du club K2UN à Midtown Manhattan. Le 4 février 1978, lors du contest ARRL DX la station 4U1UN était active pour la première fois à la surprise de beaucoup d'OMs. Pendant sa carrière auprès des Nations Unies, de Henseler voyagea autour du monde et était actif sous divers indicatifs. Super Typhoon disaster in the Philippines

Les stations du réseau utilisent les fréquences 7.095MHz et 144.740MHz ainsi que les médias sociaux, a déclaré Ramon DU1UGZ.Powerful Typhoon Haiyan (locally named Yolanda), the strongest ever to hit land, struck the central Philippines on Friday, killing at least four people, cutting services, leaving the task of providing shelter, welfare and the massive clean-up.
Ramon Anquilan DU1UGZ, of the Philippines Amateur Radio Association (PARA), reports that the Ham Emergency Radio Operator (HERO) has been helping authorities with their reports and messages.
"They helped track the destructive storm, its fierce wind, rainfall, storm surges, damage, plus outages of communications and other services.
"HERO network stations did this through PARA using amateur radio on 7.095MHz, 144.740MHz and via social media," said Ramon DU1UGZ.
The storm uprooted trees and brought down many power lines.
Among HERO reports was news of the official pre-emptive evacuations along exposed coastal areas in the hours before the typhoon arrived.
Others were alerted about flash floods and landslides. Authorities had warned more than 12 million people were at risk. The disaster planning potentially saved many lives.
While millions of people in 20 provinces are in shelters, the full extent of casualties and damage will take authorities several days to gather.
Ramon DU1UGZ said also affected was Bohol and Cebu, which suffered damage from a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in October, killing 222 people and leaving at least 5,000 sheltering in tents. The HERO Network also assisted in that disaster.
Throughout the current typhoon the Filipino spirit was high. As it approached, the Philippine President Benigno Aquino urged all to take every safety measure possible.
"I thought it best to speak to you to emphasise the gravity of the calamity our countrymen will face in these coming days, and to ask of everyone cooperation and solidarity," the President said. In the rescue effort was the air force, army and navy.
As the unprecedented disaster unfolds, those already pledging their support include the European Union, UNICEF, Red Cross and many other non-government aid and relief organisations.
Typhoon Haiyan, the 23rd and strongest storm to hit the Philippines this year is now headed towards other countries.

De ce fait, la distribution de cartes QSL vers ces pays n'est pas possible par le bureau QSL de l'USKA.Cette liste peut se modifier à tout moment. Schweizer in neuer IARU Funktion
HB9CET ist bereits Mitarbeiter in der "Spectrum Management Working Group" der IARU Region 1. Die Verantwortlichen der Bandwacht in den einzelnen Ländern arbeiten sehr eng mit den Behörden zusammen. Diese Zusammenarbeit setzt einen hohen Grad an Integrität und gegenseitiges Vertrauen voraus.

Bericht von der GAREC 2012
GAREC heisst Global Amateur Radio Emergency Communication Conference. Es handelt sich um ein Treffen von Amateurfunkern aus aller Welt zum Austausch von Erfahrungen und Wissen im Notfunk. GAREC ist eine unabhängige Veranstaltung, welche jedes Jahr von einer andern Trägerschaft organisiert wird.
Diese GAREC wurde von MARS, der „Malaysischen USKA“ organisiert und fand vom 12.-14. November in Port Dickson in Malaysia statt. 18 Teilnehmer aus den 9 Ländern Malaysia, Deutschland, England, Finnland, Indonesien, Japan, Hongkong, Thailand und der Schweiz besuchten die Veranstaltung.
Die Teilnehmer berichteten aus ihrem Heimatländer über verschiedenste Projekte und Themen. Ich konnte der Konferenz das Funkkonzept mit Dispatcher und Anruffrequenz vorstellen, wie wir das in der USKA Sektion Zug erarbeitet haben. Durch dieses Konzept können wir eine grosse Anzahl Meldungen übermitteln und die verfügbaren Relais optimal nutzen.
Zusätzlich habe ich über die GAREC 2013 informiert, welche im Juni 2013 in Zürich stattfinden wird. Der USKA Notfunkmanager Stefan Streif ist mit seinem Team schon voll mit der Organisation tätig. Die Konferenz steht allen Notfunkinteressierten offen. Weitere Infos werden im Web verfügbar sein.
Während dem Aufenthalt hatte ich meine kleine Funkstation im Hotelzimmer aufgebaut. Unter 9M2/HB9PJT konnte ich mit 100 Watt SSB und einer 7 m langen Drahtantenne QSO’s mit der Schweiz und allen Kontinenten ausser Südamerika führen.
